"EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE"

David SalesDavid Sales (FCII, Chartered insurance broker) from London-based Lockton Companies LLP, the world's largest independent insurance brokers, has picked up a prestigious award at the Chartered Insurance Institute's (CII) annual Network Conference.

The Exceptional Service Award is presented to a CII member who has made a significant contribution to the sector, locally, regionally or nationally. Nominations are made by CII officers, councillors and committee members. In 2012 just four individuals were honoured from the CII's 105,000 UK members.

David, who has 30 years' experience in the insurance sector, was recognised for advocacy of the CII. Leading by example, David has gained professional qualifications and acts as examinations assessor, non-executive director to the Board of the CII and vice president of the Insurance Institute of London. His interest is in aviation insurance and he is a member of both the LIIBA Aviation Executive Committee and the Aviation Insurance Association, where he holds the position of international director at large.

Dr Alexander Scott, CEO of the CII, comments: "It is important to recognise practitioners who go above and beyond expectations to support colleagues, enhance customer experience and progress the standing of the profession. The Exceptional Service Awards mark the very best in insurance. Thanks must go to David for his excellent work. He is a deserving winner."

The Network Conference was held at the CII's head office in London on Thursday 14th June. It provided an opportunity to network with peers and find out about the latest CII activity.

A prestigious drinks reception hosted by the Rt Hon the Lord Hunt of the Wirral MBE at the House of Lords to mark the CII's centenary in being granted the Royal Charter topped off the conference programme.

The CII has more than 60 local institutes across the UK that provide career guidance, mentoring and local news to members. They also organise seminars and training to help members meet their continuous professional development objectives, ensuring the best possible service possible for consumers.
